Lovell Brothers Begin Quest for Three-Peat
Two-time champs start strong in Arizona sun
Globe,
Ariz. ~ Brad and Roger Lovell rolled out their new look at last weekend’s
opening round of the We-Rock Western Pro National tour in Globe, Ariz. On board
as a new sponsor for the Team AMSOIL rock-crawling team is Fabtech, a company
that specializes in performance suspensions kits.
The Lovell brothers were
using the opening round of We-Rock to test out their Ford rock crawler in a
competitive situation. The team, which has won the past two UROC Modified
championships, finished the weekend third overall. They ended day one in first,
but two rollovers on the second day pushed the Colorado Springs duo into third
overall.
The team will be at Easter
Jeep Safari in Moab, Utah this week. The event runs April 13-15. The Lovell’s
open their UROC title defense on May 11 in Phoenix, Ariz.
Smith Gaining Experience In Rookie Race
Team AMSOIL late model driver uses April as month of
learning
Houston,
Texas ~ The Brady Smith Racing team is roaring through the month of April
like a lion, searching for a lead in the NARA Rookie of the Year standings. The
Solon Springs, Wis. late model driver is coming off a rough weekend of racing in
the Southeast.
Smith took his #2 Monte
Carlo to the Dixie Speedway in Woodstock, Ga. and the Cherokee Super Speedway in
Gaffney, S.C. last weekend. Both tracks proved tough for “The Deuce”, who
failed to make the A-main both nights. He was able to run in the B-Main at both
tracks and finished 9th in each feature.
The 2006 tour continues
this weekend with a Friday night race at the Farley Speedway in Farley, Iowa.
Smith will then make the long overnight haul to the Eldora Speedway (owned by
NASCAR champion Tony Stewart) in Rossburg, Ohio for an American Late Model
Series event. The Deuce currently sits 12th overall in the NARA Late Model Dirt
Series and is second in the Rookie of the Year battle.
